Tur Heyerdal visited Azaerbaijan fourth time. Baku

1st of September 2000 famous Norwegian scientist, researcher and traveller Tur Heyerdal visited Azerbaijan. Tur Heyerdal visits our country not for the first time. Previously he met local scientists, and besides Mr. Heyerdal Mr. Heyerdal got acquainted with country's sight-seeings. Present fourth visit to Baku is not accidental. The scientist has a purpose to find historical facts, confirming truthfulness of his theory about unity of azerbaijanian and norwegian roots. That is why Tur Heyerdal is especially interested in migration questions of ancient azerbaijanians, occuring at 1st of century BC. -1st of century A.D. During the visit there were some official meetings. Thus, Tur Heyerdal and some famous azerbaijanian and norwegian scientists were invited to meet with President of Azerbaijan Mr. G. A. Aliyev. 3rd of September was held a press-conference with participation of prominent azerbaijanian scientists where they discussed in details the questions directly connected with the theory of Mr. Heyerdal. 4th of September Tur Heyerdal, and also head of Norwegian humanistic organisation in Azerbaijan Tore Seyerstad, ambassador of Norwege in Azerbaijan Mr. Olav Berstad and prominent Norwegian writer Eyvind Skeye were invited to Azerbaijanian Architectural - Construction Universtiy, where they met with famous scientists of University. Besides discussion on investigations of Tur Heyerdal scientists also discussed the details of joint Azerbaijan-Norwegian project "Kish", devoted, as known, to investigation and restoration of Albanian Christian church in Kish settlement of Sheki region. Norwegian traveller particularly marked out importance and necessity of such joint investigation of history of our ancient country and expressed his hope that this project will be not the last one. Ancient land of Azerbaijan, according to his speech, abounds with interesting monuments of architecture, which is stony, more visual history of the country, and their joint study with Norwegian scientists will create the best opportunity for co-operation. From Azerbaijan Tur Heyerdal will move to Barda, Nij and Sheki, and after he plans to visit Georgia and meet with Georgian scientists.
